Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th, time to freak out!!!

Right?

I've actually never seen the movie before, all I know is that it has to do with an old school hockey mask. Jason and not Freddy is in this one, right?

This leads into the point of this lovely blog post, since today is a day about being superstitious and fearful.

I would say I am a fairly superstitious person. When I was younger I would hold my breath when the school bus would go past a cemetery, didn't want to breathe in the evil spirits. I stopped doing that awhile ago, but I still have other superstitious habits like knocking on wood when I say something and I don't want it to go the other way. For examples, "The weather is suppose to be perfect no rain this weekend for our trip" *knock on wood*.

All the other superstitions I have relate to sports. My husband and I have little routines that span from kissing for goals scored to chest bumps depending on the sport we are watching. On top of that I do find myself crossing my fingers sometimes when I'm watching a game and I *really* want some thing positive to happen (a goal, a touchdown, first down, etc) for the team I'm cheering for. Being Cubs fans we would put the "W" flag (which signals a win in the city of Chicago after a game) up in our house after a win and make sure it came down before the next game started. A lot of superstitions in sports.

It's probably pretty clear from my lack of knowledge about the movie Friday the 13th that I don't do scary movies. I'm a big baby when it comes to scary movies.

My biggest fear though has to do with a creature that has no legs and has a pretty notorious beginning in the story of Adam and Eve. Augh I don't even want to type those letters. SNAKES.

I'm absolutely terrified of snakes which is why I'm not posting a picture of one.

Y'all know what a snake looks like.

Living in Florida they are all over the place and the couple times that I have come near one I'm pretty sure my feet did something like you see in an episode of the Flintstones where the toes aren't actually touching the ground as I got the heck out of there. I can't watch movies with them in it, I can't watch nature shows with them in it or I'm guaranteeing myself nightmares that night.

So on this day of superstition and fear what are you afraid of or what superstitions do you have?
